Who can join?

PAG welcomes representatives from institutions, governmental bodies or authorities, private commercial operators, colleges, hospitals, airports, professional service or consulting firms, suppliers and anyone else interested in the advancement of the parking industry. All applications for membership, however, must be reviewed and approved by PAG’s Board of Directors, the general membership, and must include the applicant’s agreement to abide by our Code of Ethics.

What about Vendors?
While our core membership is public and private operators of parking facilities, PAG welcomes vendors! Unlike many professional organizations, PAG offers full membership status and other special benefits and marketing opportunities to firms engaged in supplying goods and/or services to the parking industry.
How will PAG benefit me?
PAG’s objectives are to build and maintain a statewide organization of parking professionals which will foster mutual support among its members, develop parking management as a profession, assist and aid members in solving parking problems, share information and technical know-how through education and training, monitor parking-related legislation, and educate and inform the public regarding transportation issues.
When does PAG meet?

PAG meets twice per year for regularly scheduled meetings typically in the late winter and late fall but may meet more often as needed if political or legislative events require. At one of its meetings (currently in coordination with the Carolinas Parking Association), PAG also sponsors an annual conference and exhibition. The conference offers nationally renowned experts speaking to topics such as revenue control, personnel, legal liability, lighting, security, and many, many others. The exhibition features products and services from national, regional, and local firms. The Association also holds occasional after-hours social events and luncheons. In addition, we offer forums and “roundtables” where industry professionals can swap experiences and share information. These meetings also offer excellent networking opportunities.

Are you related to the IPI or the NPA?

Please note that while we are affiliated with both the IPI and the NPA, membership in PAG is separate and we encourage our members to join one or both of these fine organizations. When you join the PAG, however, you will be placed on both organizations’ mailing lists so they can make you aware of further opportunities for professional growth. You may also become eligible for certain benefits and discounts they provide.

Are there any other member benefits?

Members of PAG may also be eligible for discounts on goods and services from participating PAG members, suppliers, and vendors. While PAG is not a partisan political entity, membership offers unique opportunities to monitor and participate in the legislative process. We keep our members abreast of local and state political, technical, and social developments affecting the industry.

What are the different levels of membership

When an organization joins PAG one member of the joining organization is designated as the “Sustaining” member. Additional members joining from the same organization are termed “Associate” members. The privileges of each are noted as follows:

SUSTAINING members:

Vote on association business (in his/her absence, may delegate his/her vote to an Associate, but only one vote per organization)

May hold association offices

Receive discounts for PAG events.

ASSOCIATE members:

Are non-voting, but may present an absent Sustaining Member’s vote by “proxy”

May hold association offices

Receive discounts for PAG events.

All levels of membership get first call on PAG events, before these events are opened to the public. Other rights, privileges, and responsibilities of membership are described more fully in the Association Bylaws and Code of Ethics [Your computer must have Acrobat Reader installed to view this document.
